- We cannot say enough amazing things about this team. They are beyond incredible. Personable. Bed side that is unmatched. Reliable, and go out of their way to care and show love and support for your family both adults and children! If you crave that small town feel where the doctor works for you instead of against and your family, makes care calls like they would for their own family, you've found your place! They are spot on and they don't miss. You will not find better care ❤️

- Anthony and Chelsea are great! They take the best care of my daughter and I. It reminds me of the days of being a child going into the doctors office. They give family medicine the old school meaning where you matter and they want to find the root of the problem instead of prescribing medicines to just mask what’s really going on. It’s also a relief they have on call hours on evenings and weekends. That has saved me from going to urgent care a couple times. They are so easy to work with and make you feel like you matter!
- We have been going to Ohana for almost 2 years now and absolutely love everyone! Anthony Sands is excellent, he is very welcoming and listens carefully to everything we are saying. I had to take my daughter to the ER last fall and we were there until almost 2am, Anthony told us to call him next time for anything after hours and he would get us right in to the office and take care of us! Truly amazing! His PA Chelsea is also phenomenal, she is patient and kind just like Anthony! Allison is on top of her job and makes calling in for appointments or referrals a breeze! So happy with the care we have received and continue to receive. I have recommended Ohana to all my friends and family and will continue to do so!
- Dr Chelsea has been seeing my daughter since she was born. She is understanding, informative, and not pushy at all. She always asks how I’m doing postpartum, even though she’s not my doctor. Highly recommend!
- Dr. Sands has completely changed my view on doctors & the medical field. He cares for you as a patient and listens to everything you have to say very thoroughly. Never drops the ball on any symptoms or concerns, and is very honest about costs to non insured patients. Which is HUGE. I wish I would have switched over to him sooner. Alison is just as amazing & kind. The whole team & staff is just beyond excellent.

Edited to add (12/17/2024): we have been going here for a little while now since my review. I still recommend this office to anyone. I have family that drives almost an hour for their visits now. The care you get is outstanding. They’re not all about pushing profit or medications if you don’t want them. This office genuinely cares about your well being and wanting to get to know you. We have had to call for after hours visits and what a blessing that is! I feel listened to and not brushed off. They have saved us many times from having to go to a walk in clinic and wait for a long time. Give them a try, I’m sure you’ll feel as welcomed as we have been. Needed them after hours and got in, got medicine and got home in under 45 minutes. Now that's the way!

There is truly no better place to receive medical care. Dr sands is highly knowledgeable and makes every effort to provide as much care as possible in-house to avoid unnecessary visits. He is an excellent listener and, more importantly, remembers the small details. He is the best doctor and has the best staff around. - I am a provider at the Portland location. I love working here and I hope that you choose us for your primary care needs.

- as someone who deals with multiple chronic illnesses, i have had a lot of bad experiences with doctors. i dread going and it makes me anxious. when dr sands became my provider, everything changed. i leave his office feeling like my health issues were taken seriously and that i was ACTUALLY listened to. i never feel anxious going in because i know dr sands is going to listen & take me seriously. and that is so hard to find these days. alison is absolutely amazing too! not only is she amazing at her job, she is great to talk to and makes me feel so welcomed. i recommend dr sands to everyone, because i am continuously blown away at his care. if you are tired of feeling like your doctor sees you as a hassle instead of someone that needs their help, switch to dr sands. i promise you won’t be disappointed!
- I just want to make note of how impressive and caring people are in Portland, Michigan. Everyone is so personable and professional at the same time. They care about you like family yet you are treated with the kind of service you dream of. Everyone is so intelligent and compassionate and just a joy here! Dr. Sands and his beautiful wife- who both were top notch and on top of everything-along with their staff were just too good I can't believe it is true. I was very grateful and impressed by this Practice. The Office has a true feeling of healing and positivity-my son is a lot to handle like his Momma of course :)-But they were always courteous, always welcoming, and it was nice to know I have these Healthcare Professionals to handle my family. I couldn't feel more at ease. Thank all of you for being just everything my family has needed!

Allison was friendly and wonderful to talk with on my initial walk-in and Anthony Sands was attentive in listening to my concerns, many of which he could take care of in office. I was pleasantly surprised and comfortable with all the staff. I definitely recommend making an appointment!
- What a wonderful office. I felt like I was on my death bed and Anthony Sands took excellent care of me. He was able to get me started on some meds right away even though I didn't see him until 8 pm on a Saturday! Even made my follow up appt for first thing Monday morning so that he could make sure I was on track to getting better. Highly recommend this office.

- I recently took my daughter to Ohana Medical Group after hours. It was so convenient & I really appreciated that Dr. Sands was willing to see her after normal hours, when I was home from work. He communicated very well w/ me & my 12 year old daughter. She loved the Dad jokes! I highly recommend & I’m sure we’ll be back.

- Dr. Anthony Sands is amazing! He has seen several of my family and has helped them all when they were sick. He is thorough with children and adults alike. However, he has a great nature with children. We all love him!

He makes sure the plan you agree with and if not he is willing to change the plan without any questions. He is really good at responding to any messages and questions that comes up.
